2009 - the beginnings
During this period Ivano is working on the family farm, but he becomes more and more passionate about craft beer, so he starts making it as a hobby. The
beers he makes as a homebrewer are popular with his friends; he refines his technique and becomes a specialist.

2011 - the birth
The Birrificio Granda is officially born: Ivano is a brewer, distributor and graphic designer too, creating the labels himself. He starts working with a 1200 lt plant for the first time, and produces the EssenziAle lot 0001, which he christens “In Primis”.

2011 - first order
The brewery receives its first order: the Lagnasco Tourist Office decides to buy Granda’s craft beer for the village festival.

2012 - the brewery opens
The Granda pub opens in Saluzzo, with Ivano the brewer at the counter as always and a few other kitchen and serving staff.

2012 - the decision
Ivano is a “one-man-band”, but exhaustion is beginning to set in; one evening he falls asleep in the kitchen and when he wakes up in the dead of night, he decides that it is time to invest and hire the first apprentice for the brewery: the Birrificio della Granda begins to take shape.

2013 - THE SIX BEERS
In addition to the 4 beers being produced (Abbatial, Passionate, Essential and Spiritual), MissisIpa and XtraIpa are added.

2014 - 18,000 LITRES
The ideas just keep flowing and he feels increasingly motivated to take action and impress his customers, so Ivano decides to make space: the plant is expanded and the cellar reaches 18,000 litres of capacity!

2015 - THE EIGHT BEERS
The beers in production increase, with two more added: Sirena and Black Hop Sun.

2016 - THE FIRST AWARDS
The Black Hop Sun beer wins first prize in the Specialty IPA category at the Beer of the Year competition and is crowned World Best Black IPA at the World Beer Awards.

2017 – GOING GLOBAL
The first orders come in from Belgium, Russia and Germany!

2017 – THINGS TURN SOUR
The brewery starts producing Pulp and Lips, its first sour beers!

2019 – TANK IT UP!
5 fermenting tanks each with 80hL capacity are installed, and Double Trouble and Hopslave join the brewery’s range of.

2020 – STAY TUNED
